Hiking and Mountain Biking During Summers in Phoenix

Summer Hiking & Mtn Biking in Phoenix AZ
The Wild Bunch Desert Guides want to deliver your best-ever vacation adventure, and that means guiding you along the correct path every step of the way.

So, every year between June 1 and Oct. 1, the Wild Bunch join the entire Arizona adventure tour industry in adopting special summer hours.

The reason is simple. The summertime heat in the Valley of the Sun dangerously skyrockets to triple digits. Vigorous physical activities in those Sonoran Desert temperatures should be avoided.

So, to safeguard our guests from the risks of dehydration and even more severe heat-related illnesses, the Wild Bunch limits start times of guided hiking and mountain biking adventures during the heat of the Arizona summer.

That means for guided half-day hiking or mountain biking adventures (3-4 hours), whether going solo or in a group, the start time must be 6 a.m. -- with a 5:30 a.m. pickup.

For 90-minute to 2-hour guided hiking or mountain biking, whether going solo or in a group, the LATEST start time is a 7 a.m. "meet at the trail" option. The LATEST pickup time is 6:30 a.m.

The hiking or mountain biking tours are certainly welcome to start earlier if desired to help avoid the heat.

Starting early enough to witness a gorgeous Arizona sunrise is an accommodation the Wild Bunch can make -- just understand that any pickups are half-an-hour before any adventure start time.

Otherwise, these special summer start times are NON-NEGOTIABLE for later in the day because the temperatures normally become too hot after 10 a.m.

Sunset tour options are limited as well and completely dependent on any pottery kiln-level temperatures. Please call (602) 663-0842 for possible Sunset tour meeting times.

There are no "2X The Fun" hiking and mountain biking combo tours available, because that experience cannot start early enough to avoid the treacherous heat after 10 a.m.
